Additional Information on Eligibility: | 1. Eligible Applicants: (a) LEAs, including charter schools that are considered LEAs under State law. (b) LEAs that currently have an active grant under the Elementary and Secondary School Counseling Programs are not eligible to apply for an award in this competition. For the purpose of this eligibility requirement, a grant is considered active until the end of the grant’s project or funding period, including any extensions of those periods that extend the grantee’s authority to obligate funds. |

You may not email an electronic copy of a grant application to us.You may access the electronic grant application for the Elementary and Secondary School Counseling Programs at www.Grants.gov. You must search for the downloadable application package for this program by the CFDA number. Do not include the CFDA number’s alpha suffix in your search (e.g., search for 84.215, not 84.215E). SUMMARY: For certain applicants, the Department reopens the Elementary and Secondary School Counseling Programs grant competition to extend the deadline for submitting applications and the deadline for intergovernmental review. On April 27 and 28, 2014, certain prospective applicants were adversely affected by severe weather in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, and Mississippi, which prevented them from submitting applications by the original deadline date of April 28, 2014. |
