Description: | The main purpose of this project is to train youth in employability skills and help them secure an internship at a company or business with the possibility of securing paid employment, allowing them to practice the skills they have learned. The target population will be youth from 18 to 35 years of age in the province of Limon, the province of Puntarenas, the cantonment of San Jose, cantonment of Alajuela, cantonment of Liberia, cantonment of Garabito, cantonment of Heredia, cantonment of Sarapiqui, cantonment of Corredores, cantonment of Cartago, cantonment of Desamparados, cantonment of Alajuelita and cantonment of Nicoya. Other 8 locations will be discussed with the Ministry of Public Security. The Ministry of Public Security has prioritized the locations mentioned as high violence, at risk communities. The grantee will have to work with INL Costa Rica to identify the specific place in each province or cantonment where the project is going to take place, and to coordinate meetings with the police and the municipality before they start the project in each location. The goal will be to graduate at least 100 people in each location during the period of performance of this grant. The grantee must include at a minimum: Training in a specific skill Study of the location and the needs of the different business in the area to know exactly what set of skills is required in the specific location. Internship for each student at a business where they can practice their skills. Training must include life skills, personal finances, and job interview skills Diploma for each student, preferably in coordination with the National Institute of learning or certified by INA. Graduation ceremony for each group |
