The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) is offering this grant to support national initiatives focused on enhancing mentoring services for tribal youth. This OJJDP grant is for the purpose of developing, maturing, and expanding community-based mentoring programs on tribal reservations across the nation. The program specifically targets federally-recognized tribal communities that are underserved due to factors like remote location, a shortage of available mentors, or challenges such as emotional or behavioral needs within the youth population, or other specific situations identified by the tribes themselves. The goal is to provide vital support and mentorship to tribal youth, fostering their development in communities facing unique challenges.
