This OJJDP grant is for enhancing the capacity of family drug courts across states, local courts, units of local government, and federally recognized tribal governments. The program aims to either implement new drug courts or strengthen existing ones for individuals with substance abuse or co-occurring mental health disorders, particularly those with trauma histories, who are involved in family dependency court due to child abuse, neglect, or parenting issues. Applicants must provide comprehensive services to both parents and their children. This funding serves as seed money, not long-term support, requiring successful applicants to develop and implement a sustainability plan during the grant period to ensure continued operation of their family drug court initiatives after the grant concludes.
