The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) is offering this grant to support methodologically rigorous research and evaluations that inform policy and practice, consistent with the Department of Justice’s mission. This grant, specifically the Community-Based Violence Prevention (CBVP) Field-Initiated Research and Evaluation (FIRE) Program, is for the purpose of funding field-initiated studies. These studies are crucial for developing informed strategies to prevent and reduce youth violence, encompassing gun violence, and to mitigate the impact of violence exposure at the community level. The program is authorized under Part B of Title II of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act and Part R of Title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act, aiming to enhance community safety and well-being through evidence-based approaches.
