The Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) is offering the Healing and Response Teams Special Initiative, created in response to Not Invisible Act Commission (NIAC) recommendations. This grant aims to support the establishment, training, and long-term sustainability of Healing and Response Teams (HRT) using a Tribal-based model of care. This initiative is specifically designed to enhance responses to Missing or Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP) cases, addressing critical issues like domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, and sex trafficking. Within the initial nine months, recipients will collaborate with OVW to identify, award subawards to, and partner with three subrecipient pilot sites, strengthening their capacity to provide culturally informed and effective support for MMIP survivors and communities.
