Description: The Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Consulate in Karachi is pleased to announce an open competition for registered Pakistani not-for-profit organizations for an assistance award through this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). PAS Karachi invites all eligible organizations (see Section C for Eligibility Requirements) to submit a proposal for a Cooperative Agreement to support the physical improvement, programming, and operation of the Lincoln Corner Karachi, located within the Liaquat Memorial Library in Karachi, Pakistan, for a two-year period beginning on or around July 6, 2015.
Lincoln Corners are information and program venues located in non-U.S. government sites throughout Pakistan. Lincoln Corners help maintain open dialogue and build bridges of understanding, representing the United States’ long-standing commitment to share the ideas and values of American democracy and civil society. The budget for this program will include the costs to a) execute improvements to the physical space; and b) develop and run programming activities, including the employment of a full-time Coordinator, at the new Lincoln Corner Karachi to be established at the Liaquat Memorial Library. The Lincoln Corner Karachi Coordinator will manage the space with guidance and support from PAS staff. Lincoln Corner Karachi will serve as the ‘flagship’ Lincoln Corner in Pakistan and the successful applicant will be expected to make the space ready for opening on or around October 30, 2015.
