The U.S. Embassy in Bratislava has officially opened applications for its esteemed Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program for the fiscal year 2024. Under the funding opportunity number PAS-SVK-FY2024-01, this initiative aims to strengthen the cultural and societal bonds between the United States and Slovakia. The program invites a diverse range of applicants, including non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and individuals, to propose projects that emphasize shared values and bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
With an anticipated allocation of 20 awards and a total program funding of $300,000, the grant offers a unique opportunity for projects that incorporate an American cultural aspect or connect with U.S. experts, organizations, or institutions. The Embassy prioritizes projects that foster public understanding of U.S. policies and perspectives and particularly encourages initiatives outside the capital of Bratislava. The key focus areas include addressing hybrid threats, supporting rule of law and anti-corruption efforts, strengthening independent media, promoting economic prosperity, advocating for human rights, and empowering women. This year, the program will also prioritize applications that feature interactive components and a clear U.S. connection, aligning with the celebration of several key anniversaries in 2024.
