This grant is for the purpose of supporting critical research to rigorously evaluate the effectiveness of innovative and promising programs or policies aimed at preventing suicidal self-directed violence, often referred to as suicidal behavior, and reducing related proximal outcomes. The primary focus is on middle-aged males, specifically within the 35-64 age range, a demographic particularly vulnerable to suicide. This initiative, identified as RFA-CE-15-004, seeks to significantly expand the current evidence base by identifying effective and scalable suicide prevention strategies. The expected outcomes will enable the development and implementation of validated interventions, ultimately strengthening public health approaches and saving lives within this key population.
