This grant from the Public Health Department aims to bolster global public health security by strengthening research and implementation science related to infectious diseases, including COVID-19. It seeks to conduct and monitor comprehensive epidemiologic and laboratory-based science, surveillance, and research across Africa, Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East and North Africa. Key objectives include assessing pathogen exposures, enhancing understanding of immune responses, and evaluating serologic testing methodologies. The purpose is also to integrate these vital research findings into operational disease detection, prevention, and response programs within the specified regions. This initiative will ultimately strengthen public health capacity in alignment with the Global Health Security Agenda and ensure broad dissemination of critical findings to partners worldwide.
