Additional Information

Agency Name: Bureau of Reclamation
Description: Recipient and Reclamation entered into Cooperative Agreement R15AC00017 in March 2015 to measure and analyze gravel bedload in gravel–bed streams in Colorado. Assistance with acoustics, signal processing, and related software are being provided by the National Center for Physical Acoustics (NCPA) at the University of Mississippi. The NCPA has provided a field deployable hydrophone system, designed and constructed with funds from the Federal Interagency Sedimentation Project (FISP). The necessary understanding for the design of such a system is a direct result of past funding by Reclamation’s S&T program to investigate measurement of bedload using hydrophones as well as coordinated research provided by the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) in Oxford, MS. The original project was expected to be completed in 3 years, however, it was determined that the additional data collection and analysis is necessary for the successful completion of the project.
