This grant, offered by the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Talent Expansion Program, is for the establishment of new STEP Centers. These centers empower collaborative groups of faculty from various higher education institutions to identify and strategically address pressing national challenges or significant opportunities within undergraduate STEM education. The primary purpose is to develop and implement comprehensive, coordinated initiatives that foster improvements in STEM learning and student success across the nation. For this specific competition, all proposed activities must be directly related to either the biological sciences, engineering, or the geological sciences, ensuring focused and impactful contributions to these critical scientific disciplines and the broader undergraduate landscape.
