Additional Information

Agency Name: Centers for Disease Control – CGH
Description: The HIV disease burden in South Africa increased in 2017, with an estimated 7.2 million people living with HIV (PLHIV) out of a population of approximately 56.5 million. South Africa is ranked the third highest country with TB, including high levels of TB and HIV coinfection. Achieving HIV and TB epidemic control requires a collaborative approach by many sectors. To that end, South African National AIDS Council Trust (SANAC Trust) coordinated the development of the National Strategic Plan (NSP) for HIV, TB, and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) 2017-2022. This NOFO will support initiatives that increase capacity, improve skills, and develop and implement systems for the effective coordination, management, monitoring, and functioning of numerous multi-sectoral structures linked to SANAC Trust at the national and sub national levels, supporting the implementation of the NSP which includes, but is not limited to, the reduction of new HIV infections to 88,000 by 2020.
