The Advanced Sources for Single-event Effects Radiation Testing (ASSERT) program is offering this grant to develop new capabilities for single-event effect (SEE) testing of 3D heterogeneously integrated (3DHI) electronic components and circuits. This grant is for the purpose of transforming the current radiation-hardened electronics design and development process. This transformation will enable the rapid deployment of next-generation electronics for space and strategic warfighters. Key program goals include generating energetic particles with penetration depths up to 5 mm in silicon and high-radiation-relevant linear energy transfers (LETs), utilizing beam diameters smaller than 0.2 µm.
