The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), through its Office of Citizen Exchanges, Youth Programs Division, invites proposals for the Youth Leadership Program with Sub-Saharan Africa. This grant offers an open competition for eligible public and private non-profit organizations, specifically 501(c)(3) entities. The purpose is to provide transformative three-week exchanges for approximately 100 youth and adult participants from 10 Sub-Saharan African countries. Programs will focus on enhancing civic education, fostering community service, and developing strong youth leadership skills. Participants, selected by U.S. Embassies, will also receive support for follow-on community projects. Exchanges will be conducted in English or French, depending on the participants’ origin. ECA anticipates awarding one or two cooperative agreements, subject to FY-2011 funding availability, to empower the next generation of African leaders.
