Additional Information

Agency Name: Bureau of Reclamation – Mid-Pacific Region
Description: The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) intends to issue a cooperative agreement to Central California Irrigation District under the authority of catalog for domestic assistance (CFDA) 15.555, San Joaquin River Restoration Program, Public Law 111-11, San Joaquin River Restoration Settlement, Title X, Part I; Section 10002, Section 10004(a)(2), (b)(2); Section 10005(a) and Settlement CIV NO. S-88-1658-LKK/GGH—Paragraphs 11(a), 13 and 15 (San Joaquin River Restoration Settlement). Estimated total amount of agreement is $92,049.22. The purpose of the project is to purchase 6 sluice gates for the Mendota Dam such that they can be operated safely and responsively when flow changes occur. New gates would improve reliability and allow Central California Irrigation District to be able to work more quickly in response to San Joaquin River Restoration Program (SJRRP) restoration flow deliveries through the dam. The objectives of the project are to achieve the following: (1) improve flow control capabilities through the structure for the SJRRP’s Interim and Restoration Flows, (2) improve and increase precision of the operation of the dam with Interim and Restoration Flows, (3) increase the measure of safety to pass flows through the dam for Interim and Restoration Flows, and (4) decrease the amount of manual operations at the dam necessary to pass the Interim and Restoration Flows. (Refer to the Notice of Intent to Award Announcement No. R12AS20040 for additional information)

A Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed financial assistance based upon Departmental Manual 505 DM 2, paragraph 2.14(B)(2) & (4) is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals.
