This grant is for the purpose of establishing a program to assist small, rural communities within Reclamation states (Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming) in addressing their potable water supply needs. The Bureau of Reclamation will work with these communities on a cost-shared basis to assess current needs and identify solutions. This includes investigating opportunities for safe and adequate domestic, municipal, and industrial water supply projects. The program supports planning, design, and construction through appraisal investigations and feasibility studies, and oversees the implementation of congressionally authorized projects to ensure reliable water access in rural areas.
