CDC anticipates an Approximate Total Fiscal Year Funding amount of $3,000,000 for Year 1, subject to the availability of funds.The goal of the NOFO is to provide support to the South African National Department of Health (NDoH) and other Government National Departments, Provincial Departments of Health (PDoH), District Health Teams, and PEPFAR-funded District Support Partners (DSPs) to integrate primary mental health (MH) service provision and improved referral for complex MH disorders into the current HIV/TB package of services in order to improve health outcomes amongst people living with HIV (PLHIV). In this NOFO, MH encompasses common MH disorders (such as anxiety and depression), complex MH disorders (such as neurosis and psychosis), and also harmful substance use and alcohol abuse.Through this NOFO, health care providers of HIV services will be able to access MH services with the goal of decreasing unhealthy stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, and resulting absenteeism. This NOFO is expected to improve access to HIV services, improve linkage to and retention on antiretroviral therapy (ART), improve treatment adherence, improve HIV viral load (VL) suppression and ultimately decrease morbidity and mortality of People Living with HIV (PLHIV) and improve their sense of wellbeing. |
