The purpose of this notice is to announce the availability of emergency supplemental funding to prevent, prepare for, and respond to COVID-19 for the regional American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) tribal organizations that were eligible to apply for, but not previously awarded, funding under CDC-RFA-OT18-1803: Tribal Public Health Capacity-Building and Quality Improvement Umbrella Cooperative Agreement.
Regional AI/AN tribal organizations meeting these criteria are eligible to apply for this supplemental COVID-19 Emergency Response Project Plan according to the following geographic categories: 1) Category A: HHS Regions I, II, III, and IV; 2) Category B: HHS Regions V, VI, and VII; and 3) Category C: HHS Regions VIII, IX, and X. This project plans is provided as an attachment to this announcement.
Under this supplement, applicants will be funded to use the cooperative agreement’s existing 6 program strategies to support tribes, tribal organizations, urban Indian health organizations, or health service providers to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the COVID-19 including the following:

To carry out surveillance, epidemiology, laboratory capacity, infection control, mitigation, communications, and other preparedness and response activities
For the construction, alteration, or renovation of non-federally owned facilities to improve preparedness and response capability
To reimburse costs for these purposes incurred on or after January 20, 2020

The activities that Recipients propose in the Work Plans and Budget Narrative(s) should be based on the needs of the geographic category(s) and strategies outlined in the individual COVID-19 Emergency Response Project Plan for which they are applying.
Awards under this emergency supplemental will be available until September 30, 2022.
