The primary purpose of this funding opportunity is to follow a well-defined cohort of participants with interstitial cystitis (IC) in order to obtain incidence estimates of IC, define the demographic and clinical patterns of IC, and document its longitudinal impact on the health of affected people over time. In addition, the focus of this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) will include translating the scientific knowledge on IC, extracted from this and prior studies, to support public health practice, including: (1) patient strategies for improving quality of life, (2) provider and patient awareness and education, and (3) medical and self-management of IC. Description: | The primary purpose of this funding opportunity is to follow a well-defined cohort of participants with interstitial cystitis (IC) in order to obtain incidence estimates of IC, define the demographic and clinical patterns of IC, and document its longitudinal impact on the health of affected people over time. In addition, the focus of this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) will include translating the scientific knowledge on IC, extracted from this and prior studies, to support public health practice, including: (1) patient strategies for improving quality of life, (2) provider and patient awareness and education, and (3) medical and self-management of IC. This funding opportunity should be used to help strengthen clinical, community, and public health linkages; and target groups disproportionately impacted by IC. |
