Additional Information on Eligibility: Eligible applicants are the four U.S. territories of Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands; the three Freely Associated States of the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau; and any non-profit organizations whose mission directly benefits these seven insular areas.

Description: The Department of the Interior’s Office of Insular Affairs is soliciting project proposals for its Insular Management Controls (IMC) program which is intended to assist insular area governments implement financial management improvements. IMC grants are not meant to supplant local funding of routine operating expenses of an insular government or organization or to be used for construction-related activities such as renovations. IMC grants may not be used to fund the salaries of local government employees, but may be utilized to provide temporary short term expertise.IMC projects which address/rectify current Federal audit findings and which improve processes necessary to remove high risk status will be considered highest priority.
