This grant, offered by the Department of the Interior’s United States Fish and Wildlife Service, Office of Subsistence Management, supports the Partners for Fisheries Monitoring Program. This program aims to directly fund fishery biologist, social scientist, and educator positions within tribal or rural organizations across Alaska. The primary purpose of this grant is to address critical Federal subsistence information needs. This is achieved by developing and implementing projects within the Fisheries Resource Monitoring Program, and/or by establishing rural student education and internship initiatives related to these projects. Grant recipients are also responsible for communicating project outcomes to various stakeholders including regional organizations, the Federal Subsistence Board, and government agencies. Multiple cooperative agreements will be awarded, with both new and existing Partners eligible to compete for funding.
