This grant is for the purpose of establishing and operating Maternity Group Homes (MGH) that provide safe, stable shelter for pregnant and/or parenting youth aged 16 to under 22 and their dependent children. The program offers accommodation for 18 to 21 months, ensuring facility safety standards meet the needs of infants and children. Beyond shelter, MGH services include comprehensive support such as parenting skills, child development, family budgeting, and health and nutrition education. These offerings, combined with required Transitional Living Program services, aim to help young parents achieve improvements in four core outcome areas. The ultimate goal of this initiative is to foster long-term economic independence and ensure the overall well-being of the youth and their children.
