This grant, offered by the Department, supports programs designed to facilitate the acquisition of Assistive Technology (AT) devices for individuals with disabilities. It achieves this through alternative financing mechanisms such as low-interest loans, revolving loan funds, loan guarantees, and interest buy-down programs. A core requirement is that successful applicants prioritize consumer choice and control, integrating credit-building activities and financial education. The program aims to ensure comprehensive access to AT devices and services for all people with disabilities, regardless of their specific condition, age, income level, or geographic location, empowering them with essential tools for independence.
