The Discovery Research K-12 Program offers this grant to significantly enhance preK-12 science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) learning and teaching. This grant is for the research and development of innovative resources, models, and tools (RMTs) that build on fundamental STEM education research. Projects should address immediate challenges in K-12 STEM education or anticipate future structures of teaching and learning. The program supports four major research and development strands: Assessment, Learning, Teaching, and Implementation Research, with potential overlap between them. Three project types are funded: Exploratory, Full Design and Development, and Conferences, Workshops, and Syntheses. Participants are expected to enhance their understanding and use of STEM content, practices, and skills through these studies. The Implementation Research strand that replaces the Scale-up strand in the previous solicitation might potentially address any or a combination of the other three strands. All three types of projects apply to each of the four DRK-12 strands. |
