The Department of Defense (DoD) is offering the Investigator-Initiated Focused Research Award (IIFRA) to support critical research aimed at diagnosing and therapeutically advancing treatments for Gulf War Illness (GWI). This grant is specifically for projects focusing on Veterans of the 1990-1991 Gulf War who are affected by GWI. The purpose of this grant is to promote new ideas or further develop existing applied research that leads to a clinical impact for these Veterans. Applicants must clearly articulate the pathway to achieving this clinical impact, even if not immediate, and the Principal Investigator must explicitly detail the project’s potential and significant impact on GWI.
