This grant, offered by the Economic Development Administration (EDA), is for fostering connected, innovation-centric economic sectors that convert research into products, services, and jobs through entrepreneurship. Funding is available for capacity-building programs, specifically providing proof-of-concept and commercialization assistance to innovators and entrepreneurs. It also supports operational costs for organizations that offer essential early-stage funding to startups. The program encompasses two distinct competitions: the 2017 i6 Challenge and the 2017 Seed Fund Support (SFS) Grant. Applicants may submit proposals for one or both. A matching share of at least 50 percent from non-Federal sources is required for all projects under this program.
