This Sport Fish Restoration Grant Program is designed to provide Federal funding to 50 States, Commonwealths, and territories for diverse projects enhancing sport fish populations and public access. Funds support land acquisition, boating access development, research, operation and maintenance of public fishing areas, and hatchery/lake construction and maintenance. The grant also covers sport fish population management, fishing habitat improvements, coordination projects, and aquatic resource education. Its core purpose is to restore and manage sport fish populations while providing public access to these resources.
