This grant, offered by the National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program (NCGMP), supports the STATEMAP component, which aims to establish the geologic framework of areas crucial to the economic, social, or scientific welfare of individual States. This grant is for State Geologists to determine mapping priorities in consultation with a State Mapping Advisory Committee. Priorities must align with state requirements for geologic-map information in areas with multiple-issue or compelling single-issue needs, or where mapping is essential to resolve critical earth-science problems. The STATEMAP initiative ensures vital geological data is collected to address specific state-level challenges and enhance understanding of earth processes.
