Agency Name: National Institutes of Health
Description: Purpose. The purpose of this Limited Competition is to solicit one application for the Beta Cell Biology (BCBC) Coordinating Center to maintain the ongoing administrative infrastructure for the BCBC. The BCBC Coordinating Center together with participating U01awardees from RFA-DK-09-011 will constitute the Beta Cell Biology Consortium whose aim is to generate necessary reagents and conduct research that will lead to the development of new cell-based therapies for diabetes. The BCBC Coordinating Center will continue to:
Facilitate collaborative research projects by organizing bi-yearly steering committee meetings and investigators retreats.
Manage special BCBC funding programs such as a Collaborative Bridging Program, a Pilot and Feasibility Program and a Seeding Collaborative Research Program.
