The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) is offering the Superfund Hazardous Substance Research and Training Program (SRP) Centers grant. This initiative supports problem-based, solution-oriented research centers comprising integrated biomedical and non-biomedical projects, alongside core functions like administration, community engagement, and training. The program’s scope, derived from the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act of 1986, focuses on four key areas. These include developing advanced techniques for detecting, assessing, and evaluating hazardous substances’ effects on human health, assessing associated risks, improving environmental detection methods, and advancing biological, chemical, and physical methods to reduce hazardous substance amounts and toxicity. This grant is for advancing critical research on environmental hazards.
