This grant from the National Institute on Aging (NIA) is designed to continue the Health and Retirement Study (HRS) for its next 6-year cycle. The HRS serves as a vital public resource for researchers, policy analysts, and program planners addressing critical issues related to retirement, pensions, health insurance, savings, and economic well-being. The primary purpose is to solicit an application to further this longitudinal study, ensuring the continued collection of data. Key goals include maintaining the steady-state design, advancing innovative sub-studies on consumption and time use, and enriching content on health, cognitive status, wealth, and psychosocial factors. Furthermore, the grant aims to enhance linkages to administrative data, improve data distribution and user support, and foster international harmonization efforts, solidifying HRS as a leading tool for aging research.
