This grant is for the purpose of encouraging research that will significantly enhance knowledge regarding the mechanisms associated with neuropsychiatric symptoms (NPS) in individuals affected by Alzheimer’s disease (AD) or Alzheimer’s disease-related dementias (ADRD). The primary goal is to advance a deeper mechanistic understanding of both the biobehavioral and neurobiological pathways that contribute to the emergence and progression of NPS. Furthermore, the findings are anticipated to provide crucial insight into the identification of novel therapeutic targets. This foundational research aims to facilitate the development and progression of effective interventions designed specifically to treat and prevent the debilitating development of NPS in patients with AD and/or ADRD.
