Description: Purpose. This FOA issued by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), National Institutes of Health, encourages Resource-Related Research Project Grant (R24) applications from institutions that serve economically disadvantaged students andcommunities.Applications should propose to develop or strengthen the drug abuse research infrastructure at the institution and foster the research career development of a diverse cadre of faculty, students and staff who are currently underrepresented in drug abuse research.

Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the Resource-Related Research Projects (R24) grant mechanism.

Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. For this funding opportunity, budgets up to $350,000 in directcosts per year and time periods up to 5 years may be requested.Because the nature and scope of the proposed research will vary from application to application, it is anticipated that the size and duration of each award will also vary. The total amount awarded and the number of awards supported will depend upon the mechanism number, quality, duration, and cost of the applications received.

Budget and Project Period.Budgets for direct costs of up to $350,000 per year and project duration of up to 5 years may be requested.
