This grant, offered by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), is for supporting time-sensitive pilot, feasibility, or exploratory research projects for up to two years. The knowledge gained must be urgent, requiring expedited rapid review and funding. The grant focuses on four key priority areas: understanding addiction services within evolving medical systems, addressing emerging drug abuse-related HIV trends and topics, exploring unexpected criminal justice opportunities related to drug abuse and healthcare access, and responding to time-sensitive prescription drug abuse initiatives. This funding is designed for studies where the timeliness of the scientific inquiry is critical to answering the proposed question.
