Description: The purpose of this funding opportunity announcement (FOA) is to encourage pre-applications for The NIDA Translational Avant-Garde Award. The NIDA Translational Avant-Garde Award is designed to support dedicated and talented basic and/or clinical researchers with the vision, drive and expertise necessary to translate research discoveries into medications for the treatment of diseases of addiction. Through this FOA, the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) is committed to making significant advances in the development of safe and efficacious products for the treatment of disorders stemming from tobacco, cannabis, cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, or prescription opiate use or abuse.
