This Funding Announcement is not a request for applications. This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service (NPS), intention to fund the following project activities. ABSTRACT Funding Announcement: J9922101004/H9922070003 Project Title: Complete Outstanding Cultural Landscape Projects for Dyea and the Chilkoot Trail Recipient: National History Day in AK Principle Total Anticipated Cost Share: N/A New Award Anticipated Anticipated Award Statutory The National Historic Preservation Act (Amended 1992, PL. 102-575) and the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act (PL 96-487) authorize the National Park Service to provide technical assistance on behalf of nationally significant resources. Section 2(e) of the Historic Sites Act of 1935 authorizes the Secretary to contract and make Cooperative Agreements with public and private bodies and persons to protect, preserve, maintain, or operate historic properties in public or private ownership. Executive Order 13006 directs the Secretary of the Interior to seek appropriate partnerships with private organizations with the goal of enhancing participation of these parties in the National Historic Preservation Program.
