Additional Information

Agency Name: National Park Service
Description: I. Project Title: American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) project support – for fiscal year 2010. Project work will take place at the North or South Rim of GRCA as needed to facilitate cyclic trail maintenance or rehabilitation work on ARRA trail projects. Project work will include, but is not limited to the following: repair of mortar and dry masonry walls, repair/replacement of stone liner, installation of rip-rap trail tread and log checks, repair/replacement of asphalt, concrete or soil trails, quarrying, and transport of materials (stone/soil). Due to narrow trail alignment, fragile vegetation, and wildlife concerns, contractor and NPS crewmembers will be required to transport materials from staging areas to specific workstations via hand or wheelbarrow per project compliance requirements. Trail maintenance, and re-construction will be performed at various locations throughout the park; NPS staff will inform work leaders of daily priority and work site assignments. Daily activities will vary in scope and complexity; Contractor will assist NPS staff as needed to accomplish the goals of this project. In some situations, NPS staff will provide members with tools, a scope of work and desired results expecting contractor staff to work independently with measurable success.
Contractor will perform a variety of work under direct supervision or independently. Requirements will change as the project progresses.
