The NIDDK is offering this grant to establish Silvio O. Conte Digestive Diseases Research Core Centers (DDRCCs). This program is designed to integrate basic and clinical investigators, fostering enhanced communication, collaboration, and effectiveness in ongoing research related to digestive and liver diseases. DDRCCs are built upon a ‘core concept,’ providing shared resources in a cost-effective manner to promote productivity, synergy, and novel research ideas among funded investigators. Each proposed center must be organized around a central theme that precisely reflects its members’ research focus, ensuring alignment with the NIDDK’s primary mission and avoiding overlap with thematic areas primarily supported by other NIH Institutes.
