The NIH is offering this grant, supported by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), to fund research addressing the heterogeneity of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Applications are sought for diverse topic areas including measurement, biomarkers, genetics, environmental factors, and treatment strategies. This initiative utilizes the Collaborative R01 award mechanism, running parallel to R01, R21 (for exploratory research), and R34 (for early treatment development) announcements. The NIH plans to commit approximately $57,000,000, funding 40-50 grants across these related opportunities.
