This grant is for the purpose of funding the Hazardous Materials Instructor Training (HMIT) Grants Program, administered by the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA). It aims to support the training of hazardous materials employees across the nation. Applications are solicited from eligible non-profit hazardous materials employee organizations that can demonstrate significant expertise in delivering training programs for hazmat personnel and possess the capacity to effectively reach a broad target population of such employees. An eligible ’employee organization’ includes labor unions, associations, or similar groups whose members are hazardous materials employees and whose primary objective is to represent these employees.
