<ul><li>For Postdoctoral Research Fellowships: only individuals who are U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents. The proposals must be submitted by the individual directly to the NSF.</li><li>For Follow-up Research Starter Grants: U.S. academic institutions may apply with the former Fellow as principal investigator. Academic institutions are defined as universities and two- and four-year colleges (including community colleges) accredited in, and having a campus located in the United States, acting on behalf of their faculty members. </li></ul>

*PI Limit:Fellowships: Applicants must be U.S. citizens, nationals, or legally admitted permanent resident aliens of the United States and meet other eligibility criteria listed below in the program solicitation.
