This grant is for supporting the expansion of U.S. agricultural exports through the Export Market Program (EMP). Offered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the EMP assists U.S. entities—both private and public organizations—in developing, maintaining, and expanding their reach into emerging foreign markets. Funding is provided for technical assistance activities that promote U.S. agricultural commodities and products globally. Eligible products include all U.S. agricultural commodities, excluding tobacco, provided they contain at least 50 percent U.S. origin content by weight. The grant supports generic promotional activities and explicitly prohibits funding the export of other countries’ products to the U.S. or primarily developing foreign economies. Funds can also support expert government officials.
