The Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions (DHSI) Program grant is designed to empower eligible institutions of higher education (IHEs) in their efforts to significantly expand educational opportunities and elevate the academic attainment of Hispanic students. Furthermore, it aims to broaden and enhance the academic offerings, program quality, and institutional stability of colleges and universities that predominantly serve Hispanic populations. A crucial objective of this program is to support institutions in helping a greater number of Hispanic students and other low-income individuals successfully complete postsecondary degrees, thereby strengthening educational pipelines and fostering equitable access to higher education for underserved communities.
