The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is offering the Solar Utility Networks – Replicable Innovations in Solar Energy (SUNRISE) Grant to advance utility-scale solar integration and deployment.

This FOA is part of the DOE SunShot Initiative and addresses the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) performance metric of increasing the viability and deployment of renewable energy technologies. Launched in 2011, the SunShot Initiative aims to make subsidy‐free solar energy cost‐competitive with conventional forms of energy by 2020.

Under this FOA, applicants are invited to propose work scope in either Topic A or Topic B or both to be reviewed and considered for award. Within Topic A, applicants can choose either A-1 or A-2 or both to address in their proposal to be reviewed and considered for award.
