The U.S. Department of Labor is offering Critical Sector Job Quality Grants to support transformative efforts in improving job quality and availability, especially for historically marginalized populations. This program focuses on expanding job quality in the care, climate resiliency and clean energy, and hospitality sectors. Grants will fund industry-led, worker-centered sector strategies, built through labor-management partnerships, aimed at enhancing equity, job quality, and worker voice. High-quality jobs include family-sustaining wages and benefits, predictable hours, transparent hiring, clear advancement paths, worker health and safety, and worker voice. Both short-term capacity-building planning and longer-term implementation grants are available under this initiative, authorized by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
