Description: | The goal of this work is to survey, design, and purchase water control structures for Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge. The project will include specifications for the purchase and installation of the water control structures. Similarly, engineering assistance, material purchase, and assistance in the construction phase (upon Service approval of design and construction plans) is necessary for the fulfillment of this project. The primary objective of this project is to provide engineering support for the replacement of twenty-seven (27) water control structures in several units Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge near Vian, Oklahoma. The current water control structures are in poor condition and need to be replaced to provide the proper management of existing wetland units. Engineers will provide a set of stamped design drawings suitable for a bid package. Design drawings will include current topographic elevations and details for typical of water-control structure designs. Secondary objectives will include construction assistance on the installation of the water control structures. The overall work plan will be partitioned into 3 tasks as follows:Task 1: Document site topography and existing features of existing water control structures. Complete and deliver suitable construction plans with a preliminary design and cost estimate needed to achieve project objective.Task 2: Provide a final set of sealed engineering plans suitable for the purchase and installation of the water control structures. Solicit bids for the water control structure materials. Review the bids and submit the bids to the FWS staff for approval.Task 3: Purchase water control structure materials. Provide construction inspection during the installation of the water control structures. |
