Any organization with a headquarters office located outside of these countries cannot apply to this program. The Local Grants program serves as MEPIs most direct means of supporting organizations and individuals in the Middle East and North Africa. MEPIs Med Region Office and Arabian Peninsula Regional Office, located in the Middle East and North Africa, manages the program. A MEPI Committee at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate within each country of origin review all local grant proposals and one of our two MEPI regional offices process and negotiate the awards. MEPI accepts proposals to this program on a rolling basis, but each U.S. Embassy or Consulate has a unique selection process for submissions. Applicants should check with the respective U.S. Embassy or Consulate before preparing their submission.
