Award recipients may subcontract to organizations not eligible to apply, provided such organizations are necessary for the conduct of the project.Applicants for the Mentoring at Risk and Rural Youth (MARRY) must meet all the requirements discussed in this RFA. Failure to meet the eligibility criteria by the application deadline may result in exclusion from consideration or, preclude NIFA from making an award. For those new to Federal financial assistance, NIFA’s Grants Overview provides highly recommended information about grants and other resources to help understand the Federal awards process. |

The mission of the MARRY program is to expand opportunities for 1) rural youth, 2) juvenile justice-involved youth, and 3) youth at risk of juvenile justice involvement to receive mentoring services through 4-H programming. MARRY was developed in partnership with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), OJJDP, in support of OJJDP’s priority to address the challenges and barriers to success that many juvenile justice-involved youth encounter as well as to increase access to mentoring services for at-risk and rural youth. |
