Additional Information

Agency Name: Geological Survey
Description: The Wetland and Aquatic Research Center (WARC) of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner in plant ecology and restoration ecology. Specifically, there is a need for research that provides information to mitigate the direct and indirect impacts of border wall construction on threatened and endangered plants within the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. This project will provide information that can be used to mitigate current and future impacts to threatened and endangered plants in this region by working with recovery teams. Potential focal areas include: (1) the identification and evaluation of pollinators for threatened and endangered plant species; and (2) the development of propagation facilities and approaches to supplement threatened and endangered plant populations within established plant communities or establish new plant communities on suitable protected lands. This opportunity will provide an avenue for assisting the USGS WARC and conservation partners in efforts to mitigate the direct and indirect impacts of border wall construction on threatened and endangered plants within the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas.
